yep in the wiggins interview on eurosport , post presentation of route he basically said he's gonna target Giro, Froome to be 'released' for the tour. Cav 'interviewing' Wiggo was well funny. Especially Wiggins saying people were Naive re Lance.

+1 on wiggo at Roubaix

I have to say that even though the parcours favours Froome over Wiggins, I'm not sure Froome has the mental toughness to take on a much more loaded field (Contador, Schleck, Purito?, Ryder?, a better Evans?).

Wiggins not going to the Tour to win it and show respect to the yellow jersey is weak as piss.

Pipe dream, about as realistic as Cancellara winning the tour.

Surely most riders in the race have a chance of winning on a good day? The tour is completely different there are multiple days, climbs, time trials..... to go wrong. Wiggins this season looked as strong as Fab on the flat/in time trials why couldn't he win the Paris Roubaix with a long ranged move?
Not saying its probable but it isn't impossible. But I doubt he'll even be riding it

People said that Wiggins winning the Tour was also a pipe-dream.

Then came a Tour that was the perfect-storm: minimized climbing stages, major TT stages, strongest contenders not racing or crashed out, and a US-Postal-like team. Wiggins wins.

Could another perfect-storm scenario exist for Paris-Roubaix? Maybe. We never know. If Boonen, Cancellara and Gilbert are on form and healthy? Wiggins has no chance against them nor the other contenders-in-waiting that always make a surprising push onto the podium spots.

I don't think Wiggins would have won if any of the aforementioned factors played out differently. He might have been on a podium spot, but not won the Tour.

Froome? I have my doubts for the same reasons others have mentioned.

The answer's a categorical NO. Ultimately, the strongest rider on the day wins at Roubaix because it's the one race where team tactics play very little part in the outcome. Wiggins, no. He's not a classics rider.

The fat lady hasn't sung yet, and Froome may be no Lemond, but let's see whether Wiggins does an Hinault to Froome. Of course, they may both be wasted by others in the field.
