So, since you've done the lever mods, what's the new weight? Under 5kg?

Jeremy Vennell won it last year in an uphill sprint with Andy Hagan which was incredible to watch! New course this year is more rolling and minus the 10km uphill finish.

weeracerweenie
Can you offer a little more info (and photos if possible) on what you did to your pedal spindles. I also have a set of Stainless Aerolites and some 20mm delrin rod! So i am planning on trying to build a pair and lighten them in the process.
Thanks

If you are racing that bike, why don't you have Junior gearing?

I locked it out by cable before each race every week as my training required bigger gears. I'm not a spinner I'm a big gear rider. I'm mechanically pretty good do locking it out every week was easy. I could have used a bigger limitation screw but that looked silly.

Well, in most countries commisaires are strict that gears should be removed, otherwise you get DSQ.

just about everyone at nationals runs a junior cassette and locks out via cable or limit screw, i just ran a 11 - 23 and locked out all but 5 gears for racing, for the record i won my centers junior racing winning 11 of the 13 races, (2 were hill climbs) on this setup.
