Hi,

Looking for someone who has tried the Absolute Black rotors and wants to share some experiences. Things I'm interested to know more about are:
- Actual weight
- Brake performance (including squealing or a lack thereof)
- Quality of the finish of rotors
- Any sign of wear at the friction ring/spider interface after usage

I hope someone here has tried them and wants to share some info :)

Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that the weights are spot on.

I have not got my 6 bolt rotors yet. I think they are still not made.

I have one centerlock, weight is spot on and braking is good.
I would recommend them.

Thanks Mattias. How about squeeling? Are they quiet even in wet conditions? As an engineer, how do you rate the design? Is it solid, or is there a risk that the friction ring will move too much on the spider and eventually wear out the aluminium spider?

Thanks!

Actually, the inventor/proprietor is a Forum Member here.

I have a centrelock set that I am running on a carbon tubular wheelset. The Vendor was very easy to deal with and shipped very quickly. The product itself is very well made. From a weight perspective, they were bang-on. One was lighter than advertised. They came with little stickers with the weight of each part hand-checked before shipping. Nice touch.

I do not use my MTB for much more than an off-season training distraction, so I am probably not the best judge of wear, etc., but they work just fine for me.

Even I´m a experienced cyclist and being a machinist for over 10 years , I´m no engineer.
I cannot see any serious flaws in his discs, well made and the aluminum carrier took a LONG time in the CNC mill, and as all know time = money.
That´s a part of why these discs are expensive, they ARE well made.

Bringing this tread back up as I'm currently waiting for Marcin to finish a pair of rotors for me. Is anyone running these rotors at the moment?

Anyone knows when will their titanium rotors come out?

I don't think the titanium rotors will be happening to be honest, but maybe Marcin will comment himself in this thread.

Looks good, but same performance as Ice Tech. Not worth it for the slightly "extra" lightness....

Why would you go for this over Hope X2 race rotor which is 1/3 price, lighter, lasts extremely well, provides awesome all weather braking and has no rider weight limit unlike AB? Anyone ridden both to compare?
