For some reason I find the greatest improvements post launch.. just to be clear, BB (bearings, or adapters as the case may be) were not included in my initial weight report and are not included now. And I did not say that this would be the lightest crank in the world, I said we are "on track to be" ... probably excitement about the results so far and the other changes I have yet to try. I am a bit overly optimistic and yes, there is a difference between being the lightest in the world and the lightest truly robust crank in the world .. the crank must be robust and light .. just like our Gravitas road calipers.
Hi Ted, I called last week on purchasing the crank but had some knee jerk hesitancies after I got home and read comments about additional changes in the works. Will these changes/updates be in the initial early offering of this crank with the lower weight?

Yes, these changes and all the changes over the next few weeks will be incorporated into the production cranks. BTW, the lightening suggestions you made earlier are very valid.

Hi Ted, Just for clarification, it was mentioned that the spindle will be available in multiple colors. Does this also apply to the spider or will this be black by default?

Yes, you can specify the spider color.. I didn't encourage it because I think it may be a bit too much color because it is such a large part. I guess it comes down to the overall look of the bike.. but we can certainly do it for you.

Ted,
I was speaking with you about ordering the crank set with brakes but have yet to get an invoice. I was hoping to get the brake set (modified for power cordz) before too long. I took the calipers off my road bike and am stuck riding my tri bike in the rain! (well on a trainer)

Any more news?
Need new cranks now as I'll need to run semi-compact to get through a few rides I have coming up - the deposit for the pre-order alone is more than some of the other options, but I'm struggling to resist...!

I got my order in a couple of days ago.
A lady named Kristi who takes the orders for the cranks did mention to me that the weight had come significantly down and that they had also been cosmetically improved. I am curious as to how much weight has been dropped and how the cosmetic tweaks look. Despite my curiosity I did not ask for further details, I am happy to wait and see what arrives in the post in around 5-6 weeks time.
I can't give you any more information than this.
It sounds like Ted is busy in the background working his magic on these cranks.

"Also - just to let you know, Ted has taken that crank design to an even greater level of awesomeness ; ) It's super secret at the moment, but let me just tell you this - if you thought the posted photo looked good, just WAIT till you see the final design. : )
You will LOVE it."
How exciting!!
