Beautiful! And great wheels, too.
Exp001 || Other projects in the works.
Great looking bike. I would change only the crank as I think it is a big block of silver on a black bike, but mostly it would look terrible with my q rings. Everything else is perfect. Haven't seen that frame paintjob before - it looks fantastic. Nice bike.

How did you fit the DA9000 cassette into the hub? Is the hub DA9000 specific?
Fantastic ride btw!!
Thanks!
Fantastic ride btw!!
Thanks!
Great looking ride - i have one of the original sl4s - horrible paint scheme - this looks 10x better
+1 on crankset comments - i would darken that up a bit
FYI - i've had a nightmare of a time with my BB on sl4 - need to get it tightened every few months - had campy on it with adaptor cups, but it never quite fit right and after several attempts - finally bought the specialized crankset.
the best SL4 set up I have seen so far.
Congrats !

The hub is a 10s Tune Mag170. This is what my friend at Shimano who built the bike told me... You could run the DA7900 cassette with DA9000 but it has to be adjusted absolutely perfect for it to work and even then it wont shift great. He even double checked with Wayne Stetina to make sure because i was planning on running a DA7900 cassette. So what we ended up doing was taking the 11 tooth cog off the DA9000 cassette and putting a spacer behind the 28. It shifts perfect! Tune said they will have the 11s freehub available by the end of this year.

How you liking the Tune cages? Useful for bottles other than those recommended?
Im loving the Tune cages! Im using the Camelbak 21oz bottles and it works great! I had Specialized carbon cages on my last bike and they were a pain in the a#$. I had to wax them every ride if wanted a chance of getting my bottles out lol. But the Tune cages are nice because they are easy to get the bottles in and out and holds the bottle tight enough to keep them from coming out. Definitely recommend them!

As much as I hate my bikes (and myself!) hitting the deck, it is just a bike.
It was designed to be raced, regardless of the Cat.

I pretty much only race road races and a few TTs for fun and have no plans on doing any crits. I am in the Cat 4s but dont have time to move up since i race motocross in the 250 A/Pro class. The funny thing is I have a friend who races Cat1/Pro and he says its sketchy even at that level... I guess thats just part of cycling.
