These are finally available. Does anyone know if there is anything different on the new hubs besides color and the cassette body. I am tempted to build a set of wheels with the new hubs, but they would cost me a bit more $$$. Now I just want to justify the extra cash if there are no major changes from the 7900 hubs.

According to Shimano's site, the new hubs feature 11s compatibility and new seal construction.
Not really sure how much they changed with the seals but they look sick in black :D

I did a spoke calculation and the 9000's take the same length of spoke which I found interesting.

I have just done a build with Dura Ace 9000 and the new c24 wheels. Hubs now make a click sound when free wheeling like most other hubs. Previous version was quite.

Flange spacing makes almost no difference to spoke length if flange diameters are the same.

Will the 9000 11s groupset be compatible with the existing 7900 hub?

Lowest spoke count for the rear is 24 which is OK but lowest for the front 24 as well. Would have been nice to see a 20 hole for building with carbon rim like Enve or Zipp

If someone's interested in building a wheelset with those new 9000 hubs, here are the specs :

9000 Freehub :

Spoke Holes PCD : 44 mm (Non drive side) / 45 mm (drive side)
Flange distance : 56.9 mm
Flange distance 28 holes : 56.5 mm
Dish : 9.75 mm
Dish 28 holes : 9.95 mm

9000 Front hub :
Spoke Holes PCD : 38 mm
Flange distance : 74.0 mm

Thanks for letting use know but you might as well round flange spacing measurements to nearest 0.5mm as 0.05mm change does not change spoke length in reality. Also easier to measure that way.

Guerdi,

How do I get from the numbers you posted to the center to flange distances for the 9000 cassette hub? If you know them I would appreciate it if you could post them.

Thanks,
Geoff
