Indeed, and of course one Fabian Cancellara, funnily both in the type of races that Moser F. excelled in too. OK these three are big and heavy, which in general is a dying breed in cycling, so that supports the thesis of the broadened and deepened top class of riders.

Wouldn't like to see yet even more of those silly steep climbs built in the routes of the other type of races, just to make them more selective. All that it does, is increase predictability. Maybe races should be made longer again.......

Hold on to your hats everyone...

JTL joins Sky.

Oh and going by Hennie Kuiper's formula I would be allowed to be 85kgs! I could not think of many races that would allow me to be competitive in...

Errr, there is a Moser out there.

F. Moser said:

“You have to wait a couple of years before saying whether he (Francesco's nephew, Moreno Moser) will become a great rider,” Moser said. “But I am happy to see another Moser among the protagonists of the peloton.”

86kg here we come. Maybe if I took all the shit the pros do and gained that weight I could TT at 600 watts and that's how I'd get over mountains.

The funniest bit of that F. Moser rant was the notion that the tour Wiggins won was tailor made for him. How about that Giro Moser won then, huh?

Yeah, obviously the formula is a bit skewed as you get taller, but at the same time it's unreal that he did so well at 72 kgs. I mean the guy was World Champion, Olympic Champion, 2nd at the Tour.

I don't understand, Sky has already too many gc contenders , others teams like Greenedge or Omega Pharma don't.

Sky should rather hire some riders for the classics, with Flecha leaving there is only Boasson Haegen left.

^ Sky is just improving on their winning formula of having a great team of GC riders going at threshold up the mountains. Its scary to think of how good next years tour team could be.

Bradley Wiggins
Edvald Boasson Hagen
Mark Cavendish out <> in Sergio Henao
Bernhard Eisel out <> in Rigoberto Uran
Chris Froome
Christian Knees <> JTL
Richie Porte
Michael Rogers
Kanstantsin Siutsou

And you still got those two american kids :unbelievable:

I would be seriously porky if I were 66kg! I've got a bit of a spare tyre as it is at 58kg.

Keep in mind they raced a lot more, which means they had to keep reserves all year.

Imagine AC and Wiggo at Paris Roubaix, not just riding along, but being competitive!

It's why in my opinion Fignon is the last true champion ;)
