Because my birthday is coming up, my girlfriend wants to buy me some Assos gear.
I am thinking about a bib tight without a chamois, like the LL.Uno that is new this year. Can anyone comment on this LL.Uno tight?
I also want a FI.13_s5 bib shorts but I am a bit hesistated because I heard that the chamois is thinner than the Mille pad.
Is this true. I mean, I like the thickness of the chamois in my Mille pants so I don't want it to be less thick under my sit bones.
Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

I have both the FI13 and the Mile bib. Chamois is a bit thinner but not much and there is a bit more compression on the FI13 as well. But I like them both.

Check out the Uno. It costs a bit less and I find it just as nice.

I want the FI.13_S5 because I am so curious about that bib short. The price is no problem. But thanks anyway to mention the Uno bib shorts. Great bibs for the price, I heard.

Echo LionelB's thoughts. I own both as well. Sizing seems to be on the very small size, but once I figured that out all was good. Wouldn't worry at all about the pad being too thin.

@calnago: What do you mean with the sizing? The sizing of the bib or the sizing of the chamois/pad?
I have a size XLG for my Mille bib so I need the same size for the FI.13 bib?

Which one do you prefer Mille or FI.13 and why?

As I was saying above, I like them both.

I'm trying out an FI13 S5 looking for eventual replacements for my S2's. At one point in a 4.5 hr ride, it seemed like the blue outer pad had bunched or creased a bit. The issue got fixed quickly, but its something I'll be looking for before I invest in multiple S5. If pressed at the moment I'd say the pad has become bigger than I'd like it, but we'll see in the next 500mi. or so.

If you like them both, is the FI.13 worth the extra money?

I'd say no. The Mile is pretty damn good.

I have the Uno also and I find the Mile better.

Sorry, I just meant that assos sizing seems small in general. I take the same size in both. If I went by the Assos "sizing chart" I'd probably get a Large or XL. I'm 6'1" and 195lbs and find the XLG works best for me, in Assos sizes. So if your current Assos bibs fit well then you should get the same size in the other pair.

So the FI13 S5 is a bit thinner than the Mille? How would you characterize other similarities/differences to those two? Was also thinking about the Uno, and probably need to re-learn (again and again) that every new set of bibs is an experiment.

For me the FI13 S2 and S5 fit the same, as also Giordana Tenex and Giordana Formared Carbon.

The FI13 has more compression than the Mile in the legs. To me the upper part fits the same. But I go from one to the other very easily.
