Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hello everyone!
I've been a longtime lurker of the forums, I figured it's time to properly introduce myself and my bike.
I am 20 years old, a bicycle mechanic and "artist" (check my signature).
I've been riding fixed road for 3 years now and I don't see myself switching to gears very soon.
You may see me riding PCH anywhere from San Diego to Long Beach.

Very true, also, my shifting is always spot-on
The gear ratio is 53x14 so you can safely assume I don't do much climbing.

53x14 !!!! - do you ride downhill only?

Speed humps would even be an issue with that gearing!
To be honest, the only hills I have had a lot of trouble with are 20% grades. Everything else is just fine, I prefer a low cadence.

Guys, Werdna is also 20 years old.
Start hovering towards your late 20s and your knees will request otherwise. In the meantime, rock it!

I keep hearing that so I am prepared. but in the meantime, riding fixed is cheaper.
And lighter!
I was actually looking and building up a very similar bike. 2013 allez race frame with the beer components ebb. I want to run it as a single speed though with an older1400g road wheelset I had. running it fixed have you had any issues with the b.c. ebb?? is that the stock fork?
No, I've had zero issues with the EBB. Just install it with plenty of grease!
Yeah, it's the stock fork too.

@littlealex
I doubt that many Specialized stores will carry this frame in stock, and you shouldn't be able to order it online.
You will have to work with a Specialized dealer to order one.
@mfcycling
I started riding fixed 3.5 years ago, on a 48x16. I was quickly frustrated at how easily I spun out, so I got a 14t cog, still not enough gearing. So after about a year of hard riding I moved to a 53t ring and find that it is a good balance between being able to make it uphill and being able to go fast downhill. Sometimes it is a bit frustrating, when I am extremely worn out after many miles and still have to climb a few hills but overall it is worth it.
Besides, a new drivetrain for this bike is ridiculously cheap
