rd didnt touch a spoke at all, i wasnt even on the last cog yet and rd didnt get into the wheels as ive said initially. yes, im lucky!

Approx how many miles on this unit when it broke?

@redracer, 13mos, approx 7000km

got the rd back from the retailer last night. not bad 4day turnaround.
the upper/lower knuckles and parallelogram assembly were replaced. :thumbup:

they installed the existing cages, bolts and dirty pulleys back.

Redracer,

in my case the mech had done just over 2000km - no more. If it had been my main bike,that would have been a month and half of riding at best.

As much as I love the new SR carbon rd, I am happy with my older Record 10spd set up. It may weigh more and not be as blingy but dang if I'm not worried about it snapping on me like that. Now don't get me wrong, if I had the money, I would buy the SR in a heart beat, breaking be damned!

Glad you got it repaired! I'm assuming they warrantied it all for you right?
