now ... This is the quesion:

Easton EC 90 (the lightest one =====>Road bike only)
or
Easton EC 70 (the strongest one =====>There is a MTB version)

Full carbon or not full carbon ....

If you are using your bicycle for TT/speed, maybe the extra flex/absorption on the carbon is not so important?
But it looks like you have a minimal insertion, so it probably won't be an issue either way...I suppose the EC70 will be a bit stiffer...you said you are loooking for maximum stiffness.
I would think max strength would be important.

Is your Ultimate natural ti or painted?

I also would not use a shim, even if it was a Ti shim, which I don't think is available.

You might still e-mail Bold, to see if the Speedneedle rails will fit and what a 31.8 costs....
Do Italian Ti companies like Rewel or Morati make a 31.8 seatpost?
Also Moots make a beautiful Ti post, but I think only in 27.2/28.6....

Because it's your training/racing bike, I should go for the added strenght and take the alu-carbon

It's natural

I think that the bike looks better with a carbon seatpost (= There is carbon in all these parts: Fork, Crankset, Handlebar, Wheels, Saddle, Shifter, Pedals, Rear Derailleurs, monostay (frame) ... (... in my shoes!!))

I also would not use a shim, even if it was a Ti shim, which I don't think is available.

Ok I don't use a shim.

I will order this seatpost: Easton EC70

it's getting Record brakes (tuned), heavier post and saddle, slightly heavier fork, heavier wheels (but they can be changed!). The brakes will stop on a dime in traffic

Ye Old Bald one. What did you do to tune your record brakes? Is there a kit you can get (heavier spring etc)

has anybody used aztec pads (24gms a set) from http://www.deltacycle.com

Do a search, I have a very detailed review. But to be blunt, they suck, horrible stopping power compared to standard pads.

thanks superlite, and given you need for great brakes, I will go with you opinion.

Any idea on how i could tune my dura ace brakes for better stopping?

Get some Kool Stop pads. Thats about all you can do for stopping power. To make them lighter you could get the SRP Ti kit.
