Trek has stack and reach for working out your current fit on their bikes. Is your current fit actually suitable?

Get a professional fit. Buy bike that matches fit.

But in Trek CX geometry the main different between the 50 and 52cm frames is the stack height with it being 2cm higher. If you cannot get a fit, I'm 5'6 and ride the 52.

i took the bike out of the shed
and see it has speed max 30 c tires on it.

i wonder if canondale makes stem that is really short
i am going to guess it has around a 90 on it now.
stem that fits old headshok fork diameter

i tried to post a pix
but says file too big

It won't be a new Trek then because they have a 52cm bike on their geometry table for Ion and Cronus. And I have a 52cm bike.

I don't think I can help you any further.

The Crossrip then. Its not really a cross bike, it is Trek's answer to the Tricross.

No it is legal im sure but I doubt you will be really riding UCI races anyway. It's just not a race bike. It is commuter or trail bike really. Longer and more relaxed than a CX bike and will handle accordingly.

Lots of brands are bringing out disc equipped cross bikes as stock this year, felt f65x and the specialized crux elite disc are two off the top of my head.

Cannondale is releasing a 2013 CaadX (which has disc brakes) bike this year as well. It is due to arrive soon
