Hello guys. I am a first time poster, but long time reader on this great forum

I am in the process of making a spreadsheet for lightening my bike and got stuck at the seatpost clamp. I've measured the outer diameter on my Trek frame to 36,2mm, and that's where I got stuck. The one I have weigh 55g and I can't seem to find a light replacement other than "Hope" which I'm not really into =/ Do any of you guys know of a light clamp this size?

I'm not familier with that tube width, the ones I've suggested below may work but you should probably check first. I'm sure someone on here will have the same frame, you should try searching in the forum search facility.
If you're looking to lighten your bike the you should definitely use xcracer.com. Amazing service and a great site in general too.

Thanks for your reply chucklight. I also thought it was kinda weird when I measured it. But it's an older Trek 6000 frame, and my guess is that they used some thicker tubing as it was one of their cheaper models.

Anyone think a 34,9mm clamp would be able to stretch a little to fit approx 36mm ?

What you need is a custom clamp. Tune, mcfk, Lire Carbon Smud etc.

It will get expensive, so might want to think if it is worth to invest in your Trek

Smud carbon has the best build quality/weight for its price.
Edit: if you go for the lightest option it might save you +- 50 gram.

Awesome Tom-s, I can see they got it in a size 36mm and it's incredibly light. Will defo go for that one at a very reasonable price too.. Any comments on how well it holds the seatpost for mtb-xc-riding?

I recall those treks using a "35.9mm" clamp, essentially 36mm.

Yea, that's approximately the size I've measured with a pair of calipers. I guess it varies a bit on lower end bikes..
