Do you work for Trek? Why does it have to be Bontrager?

I recommend Ritchey Speedmax if you do more road and Michelin Muds if you ride more trails. Both are very good.

While it's not on the original list, another vote for Speedmax. Great for a variety of road/track conditions

If your shop can't get Ritchey or Michelin tires I'd find a new shop.

Tire width only matters if you race in UCI events.

The limit is 33c. I've riden Jones' recently and they are ok in the mud, really don't like lower pressures though from what I can tell. Not great on grass, tarmac or hardpacked surfaces and they feel really draggy to me. The CXO looks to be a file tread tyre.

The best of all worlds clincher tyre I've experienced is a Mud2 better in the mud than a Grifo and I think just as well rolling on harder surfaces. Had no problem running them as low as 25psi but I'm rather lightweight.

No tyre bigger than 33mm, Whether certain manufacturers 33c tyres are 33mm can vary.

It depends on the terrain you will be racing. Both of those won't be great in mud.
