Neck muscles really sore, my whole chest seems to have taken a blow too.. Feeling tender in new places constantly :-)

Ohwell, at least it wasn't I who broke my collarbone in the same crash, and then got back up to the peloton and went on a breakaway... some crazy strong, HTFU'in bastard!

Friday ITT (no TT bike this time though)

djm, glad to hear you came through relatively unscathed.

Interesting to notice that the wheels seem to have come through ok and the frame took the brunt of the damage.

From the finale of our club race series this evening. 40 km pursuit/hunt based on the points from the races in the series; first across the line takes the overall.
7 gravel sections, totalling appx. 12 km of the entire distance. Picture shows two of the hunters. The rider closest to the camera took the two man sprint for the win.

from a race in my home town (half way august)
(I'm the guy in blue/yellow on the focus, my previous bike)

this is from a race in "la roche": 11 10km laps with 200m elevation gain.
Very nice course, a race you don't win by accident but because you're the best. I wasn't going to win, but I had good legs for a nice result, too bad someone crashed into my derailleur and the cable snapped, not ideal on a race like that...

this is on one of the "flatter" parts of the lap the only problem here was a rather strong headwind

the 'moral' was a bit low at the end off the season, so I had to pop out the carbon wheels to get the legs rolling! aaaah, the sound...

Important lesson learned this weekend: When it is more than 30C i struggle...
2-Day, 4-stage race. The two time trials were early morning and i did loads better than i expected. The two road races were in the afternoon and with the temperature at 37C i suffered badly with cramp.
Hope to get some more interesting pics up in a bit but here are a couple to start.

Image

First time i've averaged 48kph in a TT. might have only been 3km but it did have a 1200m long climb in it.

Got a few more pictures from the weekend:
160 starters and i was happy with 5th after the prologue
Image

First road stage, 100km of flat... A group of 15 got away and at first i was happy to let them burn in the sun...
Image

But then when no one was working in the peloton i tried to get across. Didn't work.
Image

Eventually we closed to within a minute of the break which meant i was in 11th overall over night. A solid team TT the next morning kept me within a minute of the yellow jersey.
Image

Sunday afternoon was too hot. I'm sitting second wheel in the peloton here, about to jump out to get my only KOM points of the weekend.
Image

Cramped up with 30km to go so didn't get to meet Miss Lot and Garonne 2011 or Miss Lot and Garonne 2012.
Image

Given this was the same standard of race as i did back in May where i won almost everything i'm a bit disappointed. Only real difference this time was 25C warmer and no heavy rain.

Good job and nice pics JamieL :D.

Brings back memories of cherries and "brugnons" harvesting in Lot et Garonne back when I was an apprentice...
