2012 Canyon Aeroad CF Di2 - 6.250 grams (new pics - page 7)

Finally I managed to take some decent photos - as soon as I get the chance, I will bring out the big guns, and shoot something better. But this will have to do for now.
This is my new Canyon Aeroad CF with Ultegra Di2. Bought it last month; and have made some upgrades since then.
- Enve 65 mm carbon clincher instead of the stock Mavic Cosmic Elite
- Rotor 3D crank with Stronglight CT2 chain rings instead of the stock Shimano Ultegra
- Selle Italia SLR Ltd Team edition instead of the stock Selle Italia SE
- 3T Arx Team "black" stem instead of the stock Ritchey WCS 4-Axis
- 3T Ergonova Team carbon "black" handlebars instead of the stock Ritchey WCS CurveLogic
Furthermore I have added the Garmin 910XT mount from RWD (thanks for the custom fit, Martyn), Look Keo Blade pedals and Look carbon bottlecages (there is only one in the pictures, since I still need to sand down the other one).
Upcoming upgrades:
- Enve TI skewers on their way from US
- TI bolts in the front plate of the stem
- New bolts in the saddle clamp (what is going on with the stock silver ones, when everything else is black?)
- New brakes (could be Planet X Ultralight CNC, if I can live with the red detail)
I don't have a real scale, so until further I will have to rely on claimed weights on OEM and new parts. My guess is, that it is below the 7 kg mark...

There is "SLR Team Edition" printed on the saddle. I had been looking for an all black saddle for a while, so when it showed up in a web shop here in Denmark, I went for it.
Here is the link... apparently they still have some in stock: http://www.holbaekcykelcenter.dk/cockpi ... -sort.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Stock weight: 7.600 grams
Selle Italia SE (249 grams) -> Selle Italia SLR Team (135 grams) = -114 grams
Ultegra crankset (788 grams) -> Rotor 3D + Stronglight (642 grams) = -146 grams
Ritchey WCS 4-Axis stem (125 grams) -> 3T Arx Team stem (121 grams) = -4 grams
Ritchey WCS CurveLogic (235 grams) -> 3T Ergonova Team (196 grams) = -39 grams
Mavic Cosmic Elite (1770 grams) -> Enve 1.65 with Token skewers (1510 grams) = -260 grams
Ultegra cassette (209 grams) -> Dura Ace cassette (163 grams) = -46 grams
Look bottlecage = +19 grams
Garmin mount = +13 grams
That leaves us at: 7.023 grams
BUT... the bike can't go anywhere without pedals. So you are right... way above the 7 kg mark
New brakes, and an even lighter crankset should get me below...

Mmmmm, very nice looking bike!!
Which size is the frame? Thanks!
I wonder how would it look with Hollowgram crankset

Thanks, Michael (?)
The frame is a size L (58 cm).
After I bought the bike, I swopped the crankset from Ultegra to Rotor. But I am actually considering another swop, since the graphics on the Rotor looks a bit disturbing, and kind of ruins the stealth look a little bit.
The Hollowgrams would be cool... but are a bit pricy. My alternative is buying the new Sram Red Exogram, and fitting the Stronglight CT2 chain rings. That will shave of around another 100 grams. And to stay true to the stealth look, I would have to sand and (maybe) clearcoat the crankset.
First of all I am looking for a new set of brakes. The Planet-X Ultralight CNC brakes would fit perfect. But unfortunately they are not all black, but have this irritating red "part" (don't know the english word for it ) that ruins the optics.
Any suggestions?

Oh, I thought the groupset is Dura-Ace.
Maybe you could unlabel the Rotor crankset so it would be all black.
MARLON from this forum didi it for his Trek Madone.
About my nickname... Michael Knight - "majklnajt" written as speaked here in Slovenia
But my real name is Damjan.

You're quoting a claimed weight for the stock bike ( most definitely not in your size )! Even if that were true ( no reason to think it isn't, it is not too probable though ), 7.2 kg in my book is quite well above 7kg, which is still a very good weight for an aero bike in this size with clinchers! With the right tubulars you'd be under UCI limit!
BTW I would LOVE a stealth Aeroad with Campy SR and Lightweight Fernwegs

Agree. And for me it's extra brownie points. Marlon did a great job in changing things around and for me it's one of the things I love when people bring that bit of individuality.majklnajt wrote:Maybe you could unlabel the Rotor crankset so it would be all black.
