minion1, it was just south ish of CHCH (about 20 mins) yeah i wore just shirt and shorts, no arm warmers, no base layers. It was balmy alright. The organisers re-graded the gravel on the course so there was a fresh 2 inch layer of loose crap on the top, made a brutal race, gordy looked so comfortable it was sickening to watch...
I guess there's worse hobbies than making a bike light? Right?

That's Gordy for you, the hardest man inthe NZ peloton. Screw crashing on that stuff on a road bike, it was bad enough years ago doing it on an MTB, picking road chip out from under your skin. Man I need to harden up in my middle age!

Not me. I thought about it but nah. Maybe one day if I have some spare wheels to play with

And they do look stunning on your bike. I'm running Enve 45 clinchers but just recently removed all the white decals and replaced only two on each wheel with the black smart decals. Looks so damn stealth! Only saved about 3 grams per wheel taking the decals off but grams are grams

I have often thought about running tub's for training but never taken that jump! I did try tubeless when the hutchy fusion 2 was around and quickly got over the sealant & how painful it was to then add a tube if you puncture but as far as ride quality they were awesome!! was wondering if anyone tried the hutchy fusion 3 or new intensive (25mm) and had positive results?
...I guess I'll have to be my own test pilot

I found the fusion 2 pretty average & moved on real quickly (so much so that I sold the brand new wheels I purchased for tubeless and brought carbon clinchers instead) - anyway according to hutchy website both the 25mm Intensive and Fusion 3 are "excellent" - I wonder what that means?!?
There are a few tricks too tubbies as trainers..
Avoid any thing even a little shinny on the road..
Avoid riding in the gutter or shoulder of the road.
Check the tires before using and after long rides..
Remove any stone chips and stuff if you find em..
Use some poly Ca glue to plug any cuts and holes in the tires..
Other wise it's like s tubeless tire.. a bit if sealant and it looks after its self.
Ride until the casing plys show up!
I mix my sealants 60-70% caffe and 30-40% Stan's..
Killer mix

By the way, here is my freshly rebuilt Addict (wee had a little accident that took a gouge out of the chain stay, damn derailleur mount bolt snapped) in super weenie mode (different pedals, cassette etc) its a touch over 5kg, about 5.09kg. I have some wee on going projects that will drop it under the magic 5 on alloy wheels what do you all think?
