I know the feeling, re-broke my collar bone despite the metal plate and screws last tuesday. Although up here we're at the end of the season....

Thanks guys. Being off the bike really is terrible
Louis, mate (for some reason I was almost disappointed you didn't look like Lance or wear a chefs hat )

I admit I should have at least wear my hat so close to the kitchen... (I get all sorts of comments from my pupils now...)...
What tool did you have on that crash? Hope it's not the Baum !!! Any important damage ?

How's this for action picture?
The peloton was strung out in the sidewind at about 60 kph, when the rider in front of my teammate made an abrupt right swerve to avoid a car parked in the oncoming lane, and those of us coming from behind went down. My team mate and another rider flew across the car and 4-5 meters further on.
Fortunately my teammate was pretty much ok, though he has to have his ankle x-rayed, and got some bruises and some slight roadrash. The helmet and his bike took much of the energy. Myself I managed to get some pretty substantial road rash and a really stiff shoulder.. nothing too serious though and I'll be on the bike tomorrow
Goes to show how dangerous it is when the peloton crosses the middle of the road. In elite races here it happens constantly, but I guess crossing the middle or not, you are riding under the mercy of the judgement of the rider in front of you in many occasion. This was a straight and very good stretch of road, the rider who swerved simply didn't give any notice to those behind him and made a too abrupt turn, probably because the rider in front of him did the same thing.
