Hi
I would like a lighter carbon aerobar setup for my TT bike. I am currently using DA TT shifters in alloy extensions.
The shifters have an expander plug which wedges in the end of the bars.
Are these plugs safe for carbon extensions? Are the extensions usually engineered to take the forces?
Grateful for advice.
Thank you.
Alan

I wouldn't worry about it, a cylinder is a strong shape, the more pressing concern is how much weight you are saving!

if you have bs78 tt shifters, get some bs79. they are a lot lighter, due to the aluminum t-nut, expander bolt, and wedges.
