What exactly was hiked?
Here are some examples:
Club Jersey was $160 CDN - price increased to $190 CDN - now on sale for $145 CDN
Country Jersey was $170 CDN - price increased to $200 CDN - now on sale for $150 CDN
Not as much of a sale as one is lead to believe.

Blame your exchange rate. The price in sterling has not changed at all.
Price in January was £105, and it is still £105, reduced in the sale to £80.

Companies selling online to international customers can either put their prices in their home currency and let your credit card company do the conversion or they can have a market specific price dependent on your location. That price will be reviewed periodically, be it yearly, monthly, weekly or daily. The fact is Rapha's full prices have not budged one inch in the last 8 months. In the same time period the GBP/CAD has bumped up and down about 3-4%. How do you not know that the price was artificially low originally and they've just corrected it?
That may or may not be the case, artificially low or not, but the exchange rate has averaged out to be about the same as at the start of the year. The fluctuating dollar may have had a very minor effect but there must be something else triggering the substantial price increase, possibly importation taxes, or that Rapha sees that they can charge more in other markets. Fact is, folks on the other side of the pond see a price increase, and a substantial one at that (+18-20%), then a "sale". Kind of takes the wind out of the sale (see what I did there). I have been purchasing Rapha products for the past 3 years so I'm aware of the pricing trends.

Yup the prices haven't changed one bit in AU $$ either in over a year.
We have a very strong currency though
