Re-anodize! Don't paint, paint is heavy!

Depends on where you are... And no not likely your LBS would do it.. Best bet is to grab the yellow pages and look for one

Cannondale won't do it, or your LBS. Take it to a specialist. I've had 3 Hollowgram's anodised because they were a bit scratched. They were done locally to me in the UK and the costs wasn't much. Get the Yellow Pages out.

Not certain but Si (sl)'s looks like the arms are glued/pressed together afther anodising. if this is the case re-anodising would be a very bad idea (and cannondale would be right not to offer this sevice).
Seen only one pair that went to the process and looked less than good.

Guess sanding and using something called metall tint (VHT) wouldn't be a bad idea (seen some polished cranks that looked mint too).

Sharkman - the one's I had anodised didn't come back any the worse although you are probably correct that it would void any warranty rights.

Any chance you have any photos of the finished product? Wondering about doing this myself at some point down the line.

Incidentally I have noticed on photos of Liquigas pros bikes, that a lot of the hollowgrams have protective tape on them.

dafuq are yellow pages, don't you people have smart phones

if you do paint it be careful on the splines for the spider. Super tight fit.

It doesn't affect the epoxy bond at all. Obviously the finish depends on the quality of anodizer. if their tanks are clean and have proper tools etc. Also if you anodize a part that is all scraped it will look bad. Need to have it blasted and then etched and re-anodized.

Here is a set of standard Si's KB had anodised for me, extremely durable finish and have had zero issues with the cranks at all.

Not a problem, I know cyberspace isn't your forte  but congrats for posting the polished pictures, I actually uploaded them before reading your mail saying you'd done it yourself 8)

KB or BeeBee30, how was the crank prepared before getting it anodised?
Sanded it? polished it? shot peened it?...
