I haven't ridden it as a cross bike yet, only on the road. I also stripped it down since I'm getting some new parts for it. One thing that may be a turn off to people on this site is that it's pretty heavy. The fork is nice and light around 450g but the frame is really heavy. Despite that, it didn't feel that way during the 20 or so miles I've gotten on it. I'm excited to get it built up again.

Ive just ordered one. Have you got a figure for the frame weight? CC are claiming 7.6kg as shown which seems kind of hard to believe.

Ive ordered new cranks, brakes and levers for it. Will probably go thomson for the stem and post as well in the future.

My scale only goes up to 2200g but it is north of that. Through the power of math I'm guessing it's close to 2500g. I will probably be able to get mine down to 19lbs or so. I'm okay with that.

Ya, competitive cyclist's weight on that bike is way off. Realcyclist shows the complete bike like 2kg heavier (the geared version). It's a 4130 frame with tapered HT and sliding dropouts so it definitely isn't going to be less than 4- 4.5lbs.

Also, keep in mind the rear spacing is 130mm (road spacing) but the bike is setup for disc brakes. There aren't too many 130mm disc hubs floating around. Might present itself as a problem should you look to upgrade in the future.

I'd be more worried about 130 spacing if it was aluminum but since it's steel I think it'll be manageable.

Here's a pic of mine built up, currently with street gearing and tires.

Looks great. Is that a 50 or 53?

Mine is hopefully on the way. I've got quite a few new parts coming for it as well.

Thanks, it's a 53. I wouldn't have minded a 50 though.

whoa! that's an awesome build! I'm trying to convince my buddy to pick up one of these while they're on sale.

Apparently White Industries makes a 130mm disc hub should you want to upgrade.

changed the stem and post to thomson and the brakes to bb7s. the tektro brakes were awful. waiting for a different crank.

@ gospastic - that looks great - are those the standard wheels? Really looking at getting one of these and updating the components like you did.. How is the frame and fork holding up?
