Hi all,

A bit of a mixed bag this one….

I had a crash on my other Colnago (Alloy / Carbon Active Plus) and although I did like this bike very much, thought I would take this opportunity to upgrade the frame…

I searched around and found this EPS frame set, new old stock, at a good price. I was unsure about the traditional geometry but thought it would make a nice change…

Some of the components have come off my old bike and some are new which replace bits that were damaged in the crash…

Frame / Forks – Colnago EPS 62cm AKBL
Wheels – Mavic R-Sys SLRs
Chainset – Fulcrum RRS
Shifters – Campag Chorus 10
Rear mech – Campag Record 10
Front mech – Campag Chorus 10
Brakes – TRP 950SL

It will live with the Mavics, but I couldn’t resist putting the LWs on for the ‘money shot’ .

I am really pleased with how its turned out, not my first colour choice but very happy with it, I hope you like it!

Lig.

the akbl paintsheem is very nice.
the two colour cable kit is too mutch for me.

but i think you´ve done a big step forward.
you will enjoy it.

I have just one question...

Why the garmin mount on the TT? Seems like an odd spot to me.

Otherwise - lovely!

Nice bike. Love the paint job on that frame.

Question though - why is the Garmin mount on the top tube?

Lovely ride!
I would also go with all black cables, leave the black brakes. I also dont like the arione sadlle and those bars, but I understand its comfort over looks...

Great flashy bike.
I'm seconding majklnajt though, toning down cables and spacers would make the frame the only thing that stands out, giving a more balanced look.

Edit: Top notch now with the black cables!

Pleaaase leave the cables as they are! I think they go great with the frame. The only thing I am not really sure about are the stem/handlebar and the TRP brakes. Otherwise lovely bike.

Thanks guys....

OK, i have changed the cables to black and should receive the new Deda bars and stem tomorrow, so will update the images when its all done! Also going to go for black bar tape...

As for the Garmin, I just didn't like it on the stem as it just didn't seem right and i really like looking down at just the stem so tried it on the top tube and it works a treat - you should try it!!!

Hi Majklanjt,

No, not at all, I was unsure about the cables and bought some black nokons in reserve, to be honest looking at it now it kind of cheapens it with the checkered cables... and i agree the frame itself needs to be the centre of attraction!!

As for the bars - I really like these bars and have them on my Parlee, but these were the ones that were on the bike when i had the crash and initially i thought i would risk them but when i went for a ride yesterday, all i could think about was if the bars snapped :D . I also thought traditional curve bars would fit better with the traditional geometry so i have gone for Deda Campione bars and Deda 100 stem.

Should get them tomorrow so they will go on pronto!!

Yes, much better!!!!
I am glad you like it!

I think it only needs a black seatpost   But its not necessary. Then you would also have to ditch the blue spacers. Just my opinion.

Hi M,

Thanks, the post came with the frame and i kind of like it, but i do know what you mean. I do have a spare EDGE post which at some point i might try... but for now the blue Colnago one will stay, and I like the blue spacers they kind of off set the post.....

Something for the future... :D

wishing you all the best,
Lig.
