Nice that they're building alumin(i)um bikes. Only 50 for the world? I assume they're only doing it to meet some UCI requirement that allows them to offer custom bikes to the Pro teams.

Is there a UCI rule that prohibits manufacturers from making large quantities of frames if they are making custom frames for their riders?

1200g is about what the previous S-Works E5 weighed. Had two of them.

Anyone know what the geo is the for the new allez frames? Unchanged?

Shoes will be Sept. Geo stays same for Allez. New Allez is sick very stiff and tracks great. Would be the go to bike for the money. $880 for the frame set.

The welds look good from a welding perspective, but it's unfortunate that Specialized didn't spec out that the stick used would be the same type of alloy as the tubeset.
When there are two different types of alloys being anodized in one run, which would be the case for these frames, you will get off-colour welds.

Doesn't matter about the filler material, whether the base tube material is 6xxx or 7xxx series alloy the welds will turn darker if anodized light color or lighter if anodized a darker color. Only way to get a true color match when anodizing aluminum would require the use of inferior alloys for building a critical structure, much less a light weight structure.

Anyway, as an owner of a 2012 allez this is an exciting bike to see from Spec. Only complaints about the 2012 bike is the heavy paint and tallish head tube.

I also hope that it won't be again like "one colour one group option" ... I'm warming up for that black SWorks with red line around letters.... Damn, I wish this is a color for RED group. The silver one is also freakin hot... I assume that's gonna be "flagship" model... considering that's equiped with SramRed and high-end wheelset (weight under 6kg).

Am I reading this correctly:

-There will be the high-end S-Works Allez, only 50 made.
-There will also be a similar Allez Sport with the special welds, but slightly heavier. Frame will be anodized.
-There will be the 'regular' Allez frame with conventional welds

Seems the Allez Sport frameset will be the pick of the bunch. How would the frame weight in comparison to the CAAD10? Also I'm assuming it would come with a full carbon fork?
