I don't think the OP meant a headset top cap? Have a look at the Syntace stem top cap, it's actually fairly flush with the stem, even if not completely. The Extralite top cap is pretty flush too.

My bad misread that. I have a nice Carbon-Ti topcap which is flat. Very light.

Ooops......misread that. I would say that extralite, pop, far and near all have fairly flat "top caps".

Extralite cap.. Very flat
Fiber lite cap.. Flat but it sits up real high. It's chunky and cheap looking..

Not meaning to highjack the thread but I've been looking for a flat top cap too but with no hole in the middle as I plan to use it with no expansion plug.
I just noticed my expansion plug on my cervelo weighs a ton. My canyon only has a "cap" which weighs about 3gr. This was ordered separately as Canyon usually leaves the top cap area open. I couldnt find anything on their site though. Maybe they dont sell them anymore.
On a normal headset after installing the stem you dont need the expansion plug there anyways. Seems like a good way to save weight.
So who makes a top cap (non expansion plug version) for a 1/8 fork?

I'm using a tune gum gum with parts of passion top cap. Works nicely and is relatively light.
