OK SAD truth time.

Frame came in at 799g with the front head set, front braze-on and rear der .

I bet the real weight is around 749-759g if you take out the 3 parts. Uncut fork is 360g.

As of now THM has no fix for the Calvica cranks so I bought the Ti campy sr 11 cranks untill the fix comes out.
the campy cranks once put on add 711g. So once the THM fix is out I look to drop about 173g in crank weight.

I am not sure I will get below 10lbs without the THM cranks.

I can't see this bike getting below 10lbs with this component list. It's a sweet build though. I just know how hard it is to get an everyday bike below that 10lb mark.

It might be time to get out the dremel!

I think we can do it once the THM cranks are on. The bike is being built with every part Madcow has at Fairwheel to get this thing under 10lbs. Really the only think not from fairwheel is the frame and fork !!

Bike came in at 10.06 lbs. today with campy cables, SR11 cranks, and a 125g seat. We have about 300 or so grams to cut in the seat, cranks (once THM makes the bb386 evo kit).

No way I can get this below unless I make some crazy parts changes and that pushes me too far over the edge of a daily rider bike. I'd need 100 more grams, zipp SL-> Ax bar, -35g, extralite stem -> ax stem -23 grams, MCFK seat post -> Schmolke -25grams, seat collar stock -> tune - 16 grams. Bolt and sprocket swap out 15-20 grams total -114 grams or so.

This takes me to about max -414 grams but maybe more like 364 grams on the safe side.
Cost of about $ 1800 to shave 1 pound, and the weight limit of the parts.

A 10 pound bike is quite cool; a sub 10 bike is an achievement in engineering.

I thought Wilier called it the zero.7 because the frame was below 0.7kg? Finally a manufacturer that's truthful about the weight

Yes, had Two Hubs in Orange County CA make a custom BB and it works great.

A call to Fair Wheel bikes, and the unknown ETA of the kit forced me to let Two Hubs have a go at it. I think they did a great job. So it can be done, as more BB386 hit the market.

I have replaced the cables now, im on my third set and have to say, the THM FIBULA brakes make it very hard to use just one cable type. Powercordz are a no go. Campy was great, but heavy, nokion what a joke. You'll have to wait for photos to see what we found to work "best" for weight and the very tough cable routing on the zero.7. It was a super tight fit, and took great skill and a cool head to get it perfect, but once done the SR 11 was flawless .

This bike has now been the effort of 4 bike shops to get the final build. Photos to come after a good wash.

totally

and i have a Zero 7 - there is no way SRAM comes close and the whole bike with Super Record and pedals weighs in at 6.3 kg - petting anything other than Campagnolo/FSA on it is sacrilege - besides it wont allow the 386 BB it was designed for, so you lose that advantage.

I wonder how much more will the bike weight if it was to have the SR11 EPS system instead of the regular SR11?

They call it the Zero.7 because it's under 0.8kg. As in, it weighs 0.7xx kg. Original name was going to be Wilier 799, but they found most frames were coming in significantly less. Allegedly :P

(Certificate with mine said 754g, size M. Didn't weigh it before build 'cos I didn't want to have my heart broken if it was heavier! Kinda wish I had now.)

So what did you decide SR 11 or EPS? EPS adds about 150g i think and adds a few £££!

After some time with Di2 on my C59. 2 rides where I left the battery at home and a major wire failure that took days to fix. I missed the feel and the response of the "old" cables. I know it works " Better" for shifts, drop chains ect. But it took something away from the ride.

I can only say it is like driving a 911 Turbo S manual, and then going to a GTR with F1 shifting. Works better, shifts fast and smooth, but lacks a feel I can not put into better words. It was as if the soul was missing from the ride, the character was gone.

While I sincerely ask for your forgiveness of my bluntness, I do find the fact that 75% of your weights and conversions are signifcantly inaccurate and the fact that you mention a supercar every other sentence, a rather unusual breath of fresh air into this forum.

But most importantly, I find it difficult to imagine the build list giving you sub-10lbs. The A2J Rolo, which is as light or lighter in almost every department than the Wilier (Berk Combo, 640g frame, wheels, etc.), comes in at 10lbs 9 ounces according to Bikerumor.

http://www.bikerumor.com/2012/09/06/a2j ... -hardware/

Pls also note many comparable builds on the Wilier .7 come in around 12lbs or high 11s.

I-links or the new AICAN cables or a mixture of I link minis and the AICANs is an easy and cheapish 80-100g
