Carbonsports wheel questions...
Moderator: robbosmans
How are the new series of wheels are different from the last generation (I believe Generation III)? Do they use a different carbon? Are the layups different?
Gipelsturm-
1) Are they the new version of the Ventoux?
2) What type of carbon weave do they have?
3) Can you get them with ceramic bearings?
4) Will the Shimano rear hub be compatible with the new 11-speed Dura Ace?
5) What is the retail price?
Meilenstein-
Same questions as above, with two exceptions-
1) Are these the new version of the Lightweight Standard?
2) What are the retail prices for the three different models?
Also, what are the crash warranty and paint option costs?
Thanks in advance!!!

Some basic answers below.
Gipfelsturm-
1) Are they the new version of the Ventoux? Yes
2) What type of carbon weave do they have? No change from the current Ventoux wheel
3) Can you get them with ceramic bearings? Yes, until September 1st, as the older (Ventoux) graphic finishes and models are still available until this date. From September 1st, Lightweight will not offer a ceramic bearing option on this model, and will only offer the wheels in the graphics package shown on the current Lightweight website.
4) Will the Shimano rear hub be compatible with the new 11-speed Dura Ace? To be confirmed.
5) What is the retail price? It varies depending on country of sale, due to exchange rate fluctuations and the different nature of sales channels around the world. Where are you based ?

Same questions as above, with two exceptions
1) Are these the new version of the Lightweight Standard? Yes, but the Clincher was re-designed earlier this year. There was a fairly detailed thread about this on the forum if I remember correctly, with contributions from Andreas Schiwy @ Lightweight.
2) What are the retail prices for the three different models? See (5) above.
PM me if you need any additional information.
Cheers,
Chris @ Lightweight UK & Ireland

As for retail pricing, I'm based in the US.
Hi there,
I've got some questions too if I may.
Why does no one respond to email requests despite sending four mails over the period of a week asking for clarification of the specification of the clinchers I've just spent a fortune on from an authorised dealer?
Where has the original thread about the new wheels gone?
Right now I'm tempted to stuff the wheels in a box, send them to the dealer, and buy from another company that has better and more attentive customer service.

Hi Airwise,
PM me if required, happy to help with any enquiry, as is Andreas. I check the forum daily and have done for years, but I don't look at every post so I sometimes miss posts.
As per Andreas's comments, who did you email at Lightweight , and what are your queries ?
Thanks,
Chris
