Hi all,

Got a nice and shinny Cannondale SuperSix 2012 and I am looking for a chain catcher that will fit my bike. I believe the front mech is clamp on. Anyone with the same bike got any ideas? What are you guys using?

Cheers,
Gabriel

When I got my Supersix, it came with a clamp-on Rival FD. I swapped it for a bolt-on, a clamp, and a K-edge. No more worries about dropping a chain, and it's much cleaner than a Deda dog tooth or similar.

Not the cheapest option, but I had the FD anyway, so all I needed was the correct sized clamp.

best thing you can do is to get a 3rd eye chain watcher. it's a "full size" deda dog fang, and more effective and much cheaper than a k-edge. even better (best-er?) is the n-gear jump stop, but i cant remember if the frame starts to expand down there, and the jump stop is much less tolerant of varying tube diameters.

Thanks for the suggestions. I would prefer not having to spend a lot of money, so the option to remove the current one and put a braze on one is a no-no.

The front mech is a clamp-on Ultegra one.

The only problem the 3rd eye chain catcher has is that it isn't wide enough for the massive flaring at the bottom I think and I believe it won't fit.

K-edge does make a clamp on mount. That is what I have on my SS. It mounts just under the derailleur clamp so it is above where the seat tube starts to flare to the BB. It does limit the tire clearance somewhat
