Lightest puncture proof 700x23c tyres/tires???

Only tyre/tire I know of are Conti Gatorskins @230grams Anybody know if there are lighter than that weight, or worth buying?

Copnti GP 4seaons at 220g. However I think the Gator skin is the best value for money. They really are very puncture resistant. Nothong is is puncture proof though for that you need a solid tyre/steel wheel.

I like the Michelin equivalents. It used to be called the Kyrlion, now they are called the Pro 4 Endurance. They are 225 grams in a 23c tyre.

Obviously these are for training. I dont think you can get a more durable tire lighter than these.
I can attest to the durability of gator skins.
once i switched over to them for training, i havent had one flat.

And people rave about their pucture resistance, but another great trait is their durability.
I dont know what kind of rubber theyre using but 3000 miles later on the same tires, no flats, and no wear indicator yet.

I have had really good luck with the Bontrager Race X Lite Hard-Case. It weighs in at 260g, and has a tpi of 120.

Kenda Kaliente Pro (with Iron Cloak)... 189gms ... I have found them to be good dry or wet and much more puncture resistant than GP4000S, but not as comfortable.

I think I have about 3000 miles on my gators too, hell they even roll well and are barely worn.

I used Gatorskins for a while and though they were crap- they felt heavy and hard and had poor traction in the wet. And they flatted no less often than other tires.

I've been using GP4000s lately. They're not the best tires in the wet but they are at least as good as michelin PR3s. And they last a long time.

I am currently using Schwable Durano's they are listed at 235g a tyre. They have been good from a puncture protection point of view.

I have used Gatorskins in the past and have had no complaints with them either.

nothing is puncture proof!!!

but I've had good luck with conti gator skins and specialized armadillo tires.

neither one are especially light...

I would recommend running the tires you want with a liner and heavier tubes...

on race day pull the liner, and swap to latex and you'll feel like your on a cloud!

My reasoning is that tubes and liners are cheaper than 2 sets of tires.

I've used the (old) Michelin Krylion, GP4000 (version prior to black chilli compound), ProRace 3, Gatorskins and currently Vittoria Open Pave, all in that order.

I went from GP4000 & ProRace to Gatorskins to increase durability, and after 6 months took perfectly good Gatorskins off which still sit in my garage and put on Vittoria Open Pave. All of these had latex tubes as well.

I couldn't stand the 'dead' and heavy feeling that Gatorskins had and wanted something that was a nicer ride. I've had the Vittoria's on now for about 12 months without a puncture.
