I think Madibles look great, not ugly at all. However, for TI builds, the King's are the way to go IMO. But then I would also be looking to match the cages with a TI post as well.

I think carbon cages look fine on it as virtually every other component on the bike is carbon also. I also think the shape of the Planet X cages is fine, I could just do with getting round to finally sanding the logos off like I was meant to when I first bough them!

Thanks for all the nice comments!!

really nice, i think i like it even more because it doesnt have "shaped" tubes like we see a lot on carbon or ally frames, i dont want to call it a classic frame but its a timeless beauty for sure !!cant belive u scored it on ebay !!

Training wheels on:

The rims are to big to suit the frame, but makes me wish I'd gone for all black tyres on my Lightweights.

This looks great!

Think its made my choice though that black on black wheels are my preference over the skinwalls...

I disagree - I think it looks too dark with the black sidewalls.

Are your LWs tubs? If so then perhaps a lighter tan sidewall would work better? The Vittoria is quite orange, whereas something like an FMB or Dugast would be lighter, or even the Schwalbe Milano (much cheaper butyl tub) might be an option to make them a little more 'every day' in use?

Finally got round to buying some all black tubs, much better imo.

Also had my first ride in the Lake District yesterday - fantastic!!

They only looked good when they were new. As soon as the sidewalls got dirty it spoilt the look of the wheels and the bike as I like to keep everything very clean.

Little bit of cleaner and a scrub brush goes a long way to keeping the sidewalks sparkling!

To be honest I just don't like coloured sidewalls on the Lightweights. I sold the carbon clinchers and got some proper training wheels which might suit some Veloflex Records or similar. Or I'd love some Ambrosio Nemesis with tan sidewalls as well!

I think the training wheels look the best  (what are they BTW?)

What's the point of Veloflex Record on training wheels? :noidea:

Oops, didn't realise they were TT tyres, never had Veloflex before. Just saw them as an example of tan sidewall tyres.
