Reason I'm choosing Easton is due to my preference towards 75mm reach, as opposed to classic shallow bars which has a reach exceeding 80mm or more.
Additionally, Easton has a rounded, non-ergo bend as well (love those rounded bends).

I do have Deda Shallow bars in 31.8, as well as Millennium Strada shallow bars in 25.4mm as standby. Both weigh in access of 240grams.
The Easton comes in a little north of 190grams. Pretty decent I would say.

Cheers!

+1

If you can't reach the paddles from the drops with your thumbs then your bars are useless..
Run the bars that fit.

Easton EC90 SLX bars - checked.
Extralite OC 110mm stem - checked.
1 1/8 to 1" all black Thomson shim - checked.

ignore the red on the Easton bars, will be covered by black bartape when it's done.
i'm still thinking of ways on how to remove the decals or hide them. have tried wet sanding but it's not working as intended. may just go for an easier method of simply putting a black tape over it :mrgreen:

as for the wheelset, leaning towards the LW Std as default, but in the attempt to bring this Master below 6800 gr, (and hopefully lower than cmh's great looking Saronni), i may opt for the RZR 46.
the RZR is now on its way to Reynolds to be "trued" due to a less than ideal offset issue...

as for the grouppo....mostly like to go for the "analogue" SR rather than the EPS.
if only Campagnolo could make the electronic control unit smaller with the ability to mount below the BB :doh:

trying to be a cheapskate by using my old Record 11 silver components, but it just looked so wrong with the gold and black highlights..
guess it's going to be a SR11 (damn the red highlights!)

post and saddle are temps, will be using Jure's combo on the final build.

edit:
on a side note, I finally got myself a proper workstand - a Tacx Spider Team.
was considering a between a Park Tool PRS-21, but end up with a Tacx.
quality is top notch, loving it!

@cmh,

thanks for the suggestion.
been hunting around but those SR11 are way overpriced..
and most shops are out of pre-red SR11 grouppo..

All i need are crankset, Ergo shifters, R/D and F/D, will hold the build until i get a proper 4pc grouppo.

hopefully kgt won't be upset with the build, gonna show some Campagnolo "restecpa-ing " Ali G style :mrgreen:

I dont have a child, but I think building a bike is very similar to being there when your baby is born ;) :D Exciting!!!

@majklnajt

gotta agree with you bud!
it's so much fun building a bike from ground up..especially when it's slowly showing form.
I even bought a proper work stand just to build this bike :lol:

added some pics above, a Tacx Spider Team Workstand :thumbup:

I keep coming back to this thread to see the progress and I must admit to having some misgivings about the direction in which it is going.
All of the parts being considered or mounted on this frame, including the frameset, are stellar top notch pieces of gear. (Jealous)
But put all together, this project is starting to look like a mutt.
Still interested in the final result though... it may surprise.
