Here is what I do. I use golf lead tape(buy the roll, not the individual strips). My 404's are 2012 beyond black clinchers. After removing the rim strip, I place the appropriate amount of lead tape directly to the inside of the rim. After testing for proper balance, I mount the rim strip, then the tire. I Re-check for proper balance, and head off for a test ride. It's a beautiful thing descending on my Merckx, with perfectly balanced wheels. So stable, silky smooth. The only way to fly.
