would be an upgrade in moving from a zipp vuma to THM M3 crankset ?
does the m3 a bb30 crank or the crank is the same as zipp that uses a bb30 kit in order to work with a bb30 frame. any body know what's the M3 spindle lenght ?
below is a picture of my zipp 603g with bearings.

i would not say it is an upgrade. it is a lateral move. the zipp has the lower q factor and i think is the best crank out there in terms of lightness and durability. only issue is proprietary chainrings but you can still get them from zipp and you could get fibrelyte

Continued vs. Discontinued.
Both are great otherwise.

Your choice.

I did not like the shifting with the Zipp rings. With the THM M3 you get to choose your chain rings. The spindle is about 86mm on both. For some reason the THM is listed as compatible with Cervelo BBright and Zipp is not.

I use rotor Q rings with my zipp VQ and they are excellent with di2

86mm is that the length of the M3 spindle and 30mm diameter ?

The large choice in chainrings and ability to run an SRM make it an upgrade to me. Btw the Clavicula M3 is just another BB30 compatible crank(same as the Vuma Quad), but really, what crank isn't?

can't wait for fairwheel to get the m3's in stock--i'm helping a buddy put one together for his bike.

we have the spiders and rings (110 and 130 spiders, praxis rings), now just need the arms/spindle.

the wait for inventory is driving us nuts!

it'll be a really cool setup when done. the praxis rings match the width of the m3 spider perfectly, i.e., no overlap or mismatch in width.

great, I was thinking of using stronglight rings if ever I get them. are the praxis lighter? are you from NYC ?

I dunno if lighter than CT2 (assuming that's what Stronglight you're referring to), but it's probably very close, or close enough.

My friend is going with Praxis "Clover" model for both the 110 as well as 39/53. We were going to put CT2 rings for the M3 39/53 setup, but he wants the same style of Praxis rings on both setups. The compact will be used for hilly races and extensive hilly training.

Like I said, the Praxis "Clover" looks terrific on the THM M3 spider, it matches perfect in terms of mounting interface on spider arms/chainring bolt area. Can't say the same for SRAM Red spider (I matched it up, it looks sloppy on SRAM Red spider arms since they're just a tad narrower than Shimano. Rings like the CT2 similarly overlap a little on SRAM Red crank spider, which is one of the setups on the bike now and is what will be swapped out for the M3's).

I'm in NYC area, yes. Unfortunately my pal's bike is out in SoCal and frankly there's nobody I'd trust in the immediate local area to do the M3 install. Only folks I'd trust would be Signature Cycles here on east coast, but shipping a bike cross country for a crank install is a little silly. Maybe. :noidea: THM-Carbones couldn't recommend a shop out there that they'd suggest for install (I asked them, and they only said it comes with complete instructions for installation).

Install them your self! If you have a good torque wrench the instructions are easy to follow.
I use light grade locktight on the pinch bolt and the spider. Using the medium grade will require way more force to remove and I've never had anything come loose using the lighter stuff.

the m3 cranks are going on a parlee z3. current bb on there is some sort of compatible brand (i forget which one) for the sram red crank.

will the m3 spindle fit a sram-compatible gxp bb without any sort of adapter or sleeve?

it's these little details that give me pause...as well as your comment on using loctite on the pinch bolt. presumably the install directions are explicit on every single step needed?

presumably his mechanic will figure it out...but who knows. can say with high degree of certainty that he's never installed them before.

awesome I'm from across the river .. NJ
yes the CT2 chainrings I have a set of Pulsion on my S2. I will installing them myself hopefully it's not that hard as installing some other crankset.
