Hi guys,

I'm looking for a good set of tubular wheels.
Preferably low height alloy rims.

further criteria:
around 1500 gr max.
all black

Hope to hear some good suggestions from you guys.

I'll be running Schwable tubulars on them

gr,
Matt

Whatever light spokes you prefer (DT revolution, CX-ray...)
American Classic or DT 240s hubs

have a look at the wheelsets from Superstar Components:-

http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_ ... cts_id=499 - 1,290g per pair @ GBP509.00

http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_ ... cts_id=497 - 1,520g per pair @ GBP299.00

imho, you can't really go wrong with Stans Crest rims... nice and strong and can easily be built up in to a 1500g set of rims with the right spokes and right hubs. They are built for tubeless too, so you don't need to run rubber rim-stips - just a strip of tape, a bit of sealant and off you go.

i'm running Crest rims on Hope Pro II Evos with non-tubeless Nobbly Nics (but running tubeless with sealant). They are fantastic. They handle serious trail centre red/black runs, yet are feathery light... they are certainly not 'race day' wheels.

I agree with xcforme. Amclassic hubs + cx-rays + FRM tubular 309 rim. Around 1320g and fairly cheap

Is this for 26" or 29ers?

29ers can use the Velocity Major Tom tubular rim which is half the price of the XMD 309T.

Also the new Sapim D-Light spoke is nearly as light as the CX Ray but significantly cheaper - so making the whole set good value.

Reading the title I though you want a MTB wheel set with a glued tub tyre. DT Swiss make one of these wheelsets. I saw it at a race meeting. Very interesting. 29er too.
