dilema.

I have stacks of 700c rims, some already built onto disc hubs. However they are all road width ~19mm outside-outside.

Can you use these with 29er mtb tyres? anyone tried and tested? Is the handling/volume crap?

Else can someone recomend a cheapo 29er rim available in the UK

Also, i am racing with 2.2" 26" schwalbe tyres at the moment. What width tyres do people generally use, to get a similar response to 2.2" 26" tyres?

cheers.

Er No. It won't work. Handling & volume will, as you say, be crap - that's if you can get them to stay on at all.

I don't think there's anything "cheap" 29er rim-wise, UST or Stans-type, which will be at all light - here's a link to Chain Reaction's 29er rims. Some are £25-ish - but they won't be light. www.chainreactioncycles.com/Categories. ... oryID=1260

Unfortunately, "weight weenies" doesn't equal "cheap".

Good Luck
