okies, had my first ride on this baby over the weekend.

had no problems with the frame, it was stiff and responsive to accelerations,
absorbed road/tire knob and other small vibrations well.

one set-up issue i encountered...
i'm running this as a 1x10 (36 hope single speed front and 11-36 xt cassette on american classics)
when on the 36t at the rear... the chain started protesting...
even threatened to jump off.... well, it actually did a couple of times...

is this something that will wear in(ie due to the s/s chainring tooth being overly edgy), or is there something wrong with my chainline?

do you add a front chain guide to avoid dropping the chain ?

You need a chain guide. Spend the extra and get one that goes on the downtube not the bb type. You will drop the chain off the chainring, and you will damage your frame.

I bought the E.13 and it works really well.

yea... tot as much...
ended up fixing on the superstar guide that i had gotten earlier...

took it off the earlier set-up as i thought that the xtr985 rear d would provide sufficient chain security... and so left it off to keep the clean look of the single chainring... and save an additional 68grams...error in judgement on my part...

will give it another run on this new set-up this weekend...
looks promising so far...
on the workstand, the 36/36 combi has some chain chatter, but overall, the whole chainline seems to be a tad smoother... hmm...

will update this as it goes...

Do you really know the quality? I'm always a little cautious when using major manufacturers carbon fibre products, I think I'd be in fear during every ride.

Have you measured the chain line? The cahin should not want to jump off. maybe double check the limit afjustment of the RD as well.

Chain skip issue is gone now! Woot! and have had abit of trail time...
Frame is nice and responsive, the naked SLR is surprisingly no less comfy than with the stock padding and cover...just alil more "slippery"
Will likely be swapping out the rear tyre soon... the speedkings dont do well as a rear...

Any good light tires that weight less than 450g that will do well in the rear to recommend? was considering X king supersonic 2.0....trails i ride range from rooty singletracks, and damp forested trails, not to mention that i usually ride on the roads to get to the trails.

X- king supersonic. I have them on a much heavier SS and I like them except for the puncture I got on the tyres first outing on the first corner on the first lap of a race.

would you happen to have a measurement of the tire volume? (ie installed width and height)
and maybe real weights of the ones you got?

i have seen 1 post of the X king supersonic showing weight falling below 400g...
but no volume comparison....

I dont want to loose too much tire volume from the Speedking 2.3 supersonic(which really is more like a full size 2.1) that i am currently running... i seen posting that the Xking supersonics are as wide as the RaceKing Supersonic 2.0? can anyone verify this?

undecided between the Supersonics and the Racesport version...
would appreciate anyone feedback (volume, weight, handling, etc) from those who have tried both...

Is that a 130 mm fork? Looks strange.

As for tires I highly recommend Rocket Rons (in the PaceStar TLR version). They great in most conditions, except deep mud.

Love it! That bike looks like a lot of fun to ride. And it's nice to look at too. The black/gold theme is awesome. Glad to hear the chain guide is working out.
