How do you like your foil? I just test rode an S-5 Team and a Foil and I loved both of them and cant seem to make a decision on what to get. When you upgraded to the premium was there a drastic difference in the "feel" of the bike? I test rode a 20 but would probably buy a premium.

This one looks lean and mean, and ready to race!

Where is the 'like' button!

Why the replacement?

Racing it?

Hi shoopdawoop. I love my Foil. The Foil 20 was great. The main reason I purchased the 20 was because I couldn't get my hands on a Premium frameset. Last year you couldn't purchase a frameset in Australia to save yourself. It's very hard to tell the difference between the 20 and the Premium in terms of "feel" . The Premium's a little stiffer, lighter and absorbs shock a little better compared to the 20 but it's barely noticeable to me.
Like i told my wife, i HAD to get the Premium because i wanted a matte black bike with Di2
If you don't have your heart set on Di2 or a matte black finish. Maybe a Foil 10 or 20 would do nicely.

Hope that helps you a little.

Hi Tinea.
Nah mate i don't race. I've never actually been in a cycling race!
I drove into my garage with my Scott Addict on the roof of my car in October last year. Luckily i was insured so i brought a Foil 20. I then drove the Foil 20 into the garage with it on the roof of my car last month :unbelievable:
I'm really hoping i don't do the same with the Premium.

strangely my insurance premium went up 300bucks :noidea:

Whenever you have a bike on the roof rack of the car stick a post it with "BIKE" written on it on the inside of the windscreen of said car. This will drasticly reduce the number of bikes you need to put through insurance. :beerchug:

Nevertheless, this is one hell of a ride. (although, in my eyes, the stem looks out of place.)
'Tape was made to wrap your GF's gifts, NOT hold a freakin tire on.'
If you want to see 'meh' content of me and my bike you can follow my life in pictures here!

Maybe the height of your garage is the other thing that needs to go up too  seen it happen many a time though.

I do likes it a lot though. And funny that you bought one yet never race, as a lot of the reviews tag it a 'race machine' - ie: lacking a lot of comfort yet very direct. Maybe you just have buns of steel 8)

I also am against the stem. An Enve stem maybe? Graphics removed.

I thought the stem matched perfectly...UD carbon and colours anyway.
Would be good if it was in a matte finish. I've considered removing the silver stripe and going over it with matte clear.
I'd clear coat the cages at the same time.
maybe one day.

Even though i don't race. I wanted a race looking bike. Makes me feel fast :)
My ass pays for it big time any ride over 3hours. The foil shaped tubes makes the seat tube and seat mast extremely stiff, the down side is that it transfer road shock right up your a$$

Maybe i should look into getting some bibs with airbags in them.

I'm installing a Retro Reflective Photoelectric beam sensor (shop door sensor that beeps when customers walk in) that peers across the driveway just over the cars height. It triggers a red spot light in the garage to alert me that there's something on the roof of the car. 8)
