With an external battery, I'm guessing no, but thought I'd ask. I've been thinking about Di2 for my 7900 mechanical EPS. Such a fantastic frame.

From the picts, he didn't. He used the external wiring kit and run it along the bottom of the downtube. See the white strip in the picts ? That's the tape he used to hold the wire in place.

I'm running Di2 on my mechanical interfaced EPS too. Been about 2 years. But I run it on top of the downtube instead of below as its a lot easier to clean. Also, the taping kit that comes with the external harness works well and reasonably discrete as long as your frame colour doesn't make it stand out.

The thing about the LTD stem is that it's a whole heap more money for a weight saving of precisely 2g...

I reckon the stock Colnago seatpost, while it's a lovely visual match for the MTBK frames, is a bit of a porker. Does the LTD post need a shim?

The real problem with the Colnago post really is the lack of setback, even though its a 'setback post, as such, it wouln't work for everyone regardless of weight. Its setback is only 15mm, while most setback posts are in the range of 20-25mm. I had one with my frameset at purchase, but it was a non-workable setup as I couldn't get to the saddle to the correct position no matter how far back I pushed it. Ended up with a Deda SuperZero carbon post that had a 21mm setback and a shorter clamp zone. Even, that, the saddle was almost all the way to the back, with maybe 2~3mm left of adjustment.
