Hi Tara,

Great to know that both 1st & 2nd place bikes were outfitted with stuff sourced from Spore
in a little shop in Serangoon!

@donald

here is my comments on your post at May 7th

....Donald,

Really inspiring,
It's the lightest clincher project in the world,
I'm also under project for sub 4kg Cervelo R5Vwd road bike in Bandung city, Indonesia

Seeing your bike & the tuning jobs, seems like still many things can do on my bike.
But the wheels that you built really impressive, I don't know how to catch it,
The wheels area never touched a lot on my bike, just some drilled on the body freewhels.

Congrats with that !
Greaaat Job !

Btw do you have a time for dinner with me ? hehehe...
so many things to do with my bike after read read & read your posts.
Things that inside my mind now are your wheels & some jobs to my crank systems.
Those 2 parts on my bike still stock & I'm tryin to focused on that.

Some pictures that you asked already done,

Please check my aerolite pedal pictures :
I modified the stock spindle titan & get 62gr,
then I make myself spindle get 49gr.. it's so easy to make..
I'm running over 300km now on this spindle.

to Aerolite.. this copied spindle is only for me to test my bike & not for sale :?

Salut Tara!
Great Job on the build  The shifters seem a little weird, but they get the weight down... That rear derailleur looks fabulous too!
AYO! Come ride in Bali! LOTS of great climbs.

Great build - true WW-ism here! I can't imagine many ways to make this lighter.

I wish someone would develop a lighter chain - it's amazing how much (as a percentage of the whole bike) a chain weighs. It's almost as heavy as the fork!

I love the weigh in competition pictures. Amazing build. It surprises me what people can do these days. I got to 5.89kg and I felt like king of the world. Tuning needs to be done :smartass:

Run a compact with an 12-21 or 12-21. Using a 34 inner ring with the 21 will save you quite a few links I'd imagine. I met a guy once that used a 48/32 with that setup and never had any issues with gearing for what he used it for. If you don't need ball-busting top end it could work.

Also for a build like this why not go 1x10? Surely that could save a bit in terms of cable weight, shifter weight, and mech weight I'd imagine.
Don't take me too seriously. The only person that doesn't hate Froome.

If you were to go 1 X 10 what would you use if you were currently using 50/34 front and 11/23 rear? The issue that I see is that you would have to run say something like a 44 or 46 but then run something like a 32 on the rear to cover the same range. This would not save much weight would it?

i cycled up bukit sentul a month ago during my trip back to Jakarta. I thought I have had enough incline "training" prior here in LA. I was wrong. Humidity and heat was something else.
