Unless you are building yourself, off the shelf is probably lighter for the money at £300. Pro-lite Braccianos are popular right now - real weight supposedly about 1500g.
Or up your budget by about £60 and get some Souls.

Kinlin xr200
Bikehubstore hubs
Dt swiss revo spokes
Will give you a less than 1300gr set for less than 300 pounds.

Thanks for the advice
Yes you can, but unfortunately once the shipping & import duties have been paid they are much more than 300GBP from UK retail. ;-(
Would check the bay for e.g. Neurons. How much are Zondas in the UK ?

Indeed, my S3.0SLs came in at about £360 included import duties etc.
Zondas can be had for as low as £300 in theory:

Another option would be to look for a used set of Eurus. I've seen quite a few sets in good condition for under £300.

Disagree duties will be minimal and you can get wheel built specific to your needs
Reasonable rate at the moment with USD

Direct from Soul.
If you are interested in Souls I'd wait for the wide rims mentioned above.
Getting there! Seems like the US has a ready supply of the best stuff! Halo rims are the same as Kinlin (as are IRD) so I can get these Hubs are a pain BHS and Dati don't seem to be available so still looking for light alternatives. Easy to get cheap heavyish hubs but I really want something light. Seein spokes as wheelsmith ae15 but is this the best choice?
Thanks for all your help so far!

Why would bikehubstore not be available?

I've bought from them before and had them delivered to the UK. They turned up very quickly. Also used these guys equally successfully (Taiwan based) -

Instead of DTswiss spokes try Sapim laser they are cheaper which leaves more money for something else. How about these options.
Ambrosio Zenith hubs with skewers
DTswiss RR415 rim (if you are light enough) 28H
Sapim laser spokes front and NDS rear and sapim race DS rear.
Alu polyax nipples.
42 Spokes lasers 290mm ~ 200g ~ £29
14 race spokes ~290mm ~87.5g ~ £7
56 Alu polyax nipples ~11g cost can't remember
2x RR415 rims 830g ~£120
Ambrosio zenith hubs ~380g (without skewers, with add 100g) £75
Weight total ~1510g
cost ~£230 in parts leaving a fair chunk for a wheel builder. However if you are over 80kg this build may not prove to be very relaible.
If you went sapim laser all round then the build would be ~1490g. Using Stans alpha 340 rims would drop the build with race DS rear (28H F&R) to 1390g or with lasers all round ~1370g. Wiggle have an offer for these rims at £55 each so you would have to build yourself.

Ok so Bikehubstore it is on the hubs. The Halo Mercury which is the Kilin xr300 is only available as 16 or 24 Hole. Novatech are 20 hole at the front so won't get those. I'm a light rider so was thinking of 16 up front with Sapim CX ray for strength and aero, on the Superlight wide front. Is this safe? I believe the rims are strong and stiff. Is this any good!? Do I need the wide?
Superlight rear bikehubstore too( 24 hole.)
