Hi,

Just wondering what the lightest Aero Frameset(56) on the market is at the moment, been spending a nice bit of money trying to reduce the weight of my bike and am starting to think a new frame would be easier.

Thanks.

Isn't that a bit like asking: Most aerodynamic, non-aerodynamic frame?

I think either the Cervelo S5 or the Scott Foil. The S5 has been shown to be more aerodynamic than the foil, but the Foil is still more aero than a traditional road bike and lighter than the S5. The really cool part about aero bikes at this point is that we are starting to see well thought out bikes that offer balances.

Valbrona, I see you are posting in aero threads again. Have you finally figured out vectors or are you still in denial of science?

edit: S5 VWD

The S5 may be aero, but it is certainly not light, especially in "Team" form. I think the Scott Foil takes this one.

The Canyon Aeroad CF was a claimed weight of 1090g for a Medium I think.

The NeilPryde Alize is 1040gms for a 56cm frame - pretty sure it will be lighter than the S5. Not sure which version of the Foil you can get as a frameset - hi-mod or non hi-mod - there will obviously be a weight difference between the two.

You're right, I should have been clearer. The S5 VWD comes in under 1000 grams in size 56cm.

The Canyon Aeroad though a cool bike and looks aero, did terribly in the wind tunnel. Worse than the Supersix over a sweep of yaw from 0 to 20.
