Hey guys,

I recently switched from 2011 to 2012 shifters, but can't get the reach on the brake lever nearly as close as I could on the prev generation shifters. It seems that with the new levers set to the shortest setting, it is about the same reach as the 2011 levers set to the longest setting. I tried re-positioning the shifters at different angles but it doesn't help much. Does anyone have any insight on anything I can do? I don't really feel comfortable in the drops since I can barely reach the brake levers. I'm using Shimano Pro compact bars if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Are you sure you are going through all 4 distinct 'stops' on the adjustment screw?

yeah, I set the shift lever all the way to the 4th stop, then turned the adjustment screw for the brake lever until the lever stopped moving. As far as the screw adjustments go, the lever is as close to the bar as it can get.
