BikeHubStore SL211s have a quick engagement- they use 6 pawls instead of 3. They're inexpensive, and you can order Sapim spokes from BHS too.

thanks for the info about BHS
there is no info of the angle of each engagement. 6 pawls are great but increase drag and not necessary faster engagement.

im pretty sure I9 hubs are made in-house. they bought one of those EDM wire erosion machines to make the ratchet and pawls...
Project321 uses I9 internals, but for conventional hubs. check them out.
my faves are XTR. they have pretty quick engagement these days.
edit: didnt see your spoke hole requirement the first time, so xtr is out. Project321 will make whatever though.

Also, i9 has been known to sell their road hubs separately, though uncertain of what their official policy is.

+ 1 i am using this setup.. Also i remove the grease and the sound can be heard a mile away..
Please.. I would not recommend doing this. Its very BMX/Juvenile esque. They also put grease in there for a reason, if you remove it, it would certainly be detrimental to your hubs.....

I second the BHS hubs. I have two wheelsets now (50mm cf tubular & newly built C472w), and I am very pleased with the weight and performance. To top it off, the customer service is excellent!
Big fan of DT240s or Dura ace 7850 or 7900 hubs!
