Who does not wear a helmet ?

Each traffic related death here in Norway costs society approximately 4 million dollars. This takes in account for the loss of tax income to society, the loss of income to society in form of the work that the dead person did, support for relatives in the struggle afterwards, and much more.
I respect their choice, it's their life to live. It still doesn't change the fact that I think it's stupid.

Well, I think you are stupid and judgmental. I wear my helmet. Always. Every day. I think everyone should wear one, but I don't think it should be a law. It's up to the person riding the bike. Not up to the person pointing the finger.
I am very much PRO-CHOICE when it comes to helmets. And I am against others who impose their life choices on another human being.

I never said anything about a law. I am against mostly against restrictions and laws like these, I am pro-choice, but if you choose to ride without a helmet you have to remember that you are taking a great risk and not make up excuses such as "a helmet won't help in severe accidents anyway". I have heard of, seen and experienced situations where the helmet made the difference between walking away and hospitalization. I have even seen an accident where the rider would have been dead if it were not for the helmet. He ended up on the hospital and was riding a month later.

You're contradicting yourself. You started off by calling people stupid for not wearing a helmet. And saying that they don't deserve medical assistance if they got hurt. Well, you know what? I think you are stupid for your arrogant attitude that everybody must do like you or else they are beneath you.
I wear a helmet. I think it's a good CHOICE to wear one, but I don't impose my lifestyle CHOICES on other people. I think people should wear a helmet. And I have seen alot more trauma accidents than you ever will. If someone gets hurt, I'm not going to judge them and say that they don't deserve help, like you do. It's all about CHOICE.. And respect.

Yeah you did. You said that if someone got into an accident and he was riding without a helmet, then the medics would have to do tons of work to help an undeserving human being. On the other hand, you stated that if a rider with a helmet got into an accident, he wouldn't be wasting any of the medics' time since he would just be able to would walk away from the accident, and in the case that he did need medical help he would deserve it since he had had on a helmet. Don't lie.

This is America. I don't have to wear anything I don't want to wear!

Sorry but I had to.

It is a good thing that you know more of what I think than I do myself
I never said that they were more undeserving. English is my second language and my wording was probably not that optimal (but still didn't say that they didn't deserve medical attention). You are just putting words in my mouth.
These are my views on the helmet subject, regardless of what you seem to think I believe:
- Helmets are a cheap safety measure that will save lives.
- Less injuries means less need for medical attention, which in turn frees up resources.
- Any human being deserves the proper medical attention. Regardless of riding sans helmet or not.
- People should have the right to choose if they are using a helmet themselves. I don't care if they think it is because they believe helmets doesn't make a difference or if it makes them look cooler, it's their choice.
- That still doesn't mean that I will not attempt to make more people use a helmet. And I will still remind them that brain mass on the tarmac is much less cool than a bad hairdo.
Over and out.

It always seems to be people wearing helmets that ride like idiots so perhaps they should wear them.
I know people who have been riding for 30 years without wearing helmets who are still alive, despite having had accidents. For every 'wearing a helmet saved my / his / her life' story, there is someone who had a similar accident not wearing one and survived.
Like I said earlier, if you helmet wearing crusaders were serious about safety, you'd be wearing motorcycle helmets.

Same old pathetic argument similar to the smoker who lived till he was 100 & the healthy athlete who died at 45 of a heart attack...
I've only needed my helmet once. Landed on the back of my head at 50 km/h after I and my riding buddy each made a stupid mistake at the same time.
I could go home the same night after some hours of medical observation.
Here's the butterfly's wing stroke: I had been riding all summer with a cap, and decided to wear a helmet that day because of autumnal moisture and falling leaves. The road was dry and straight where I had my accident.
I like helmets, especially the Celeste ones.
