I have a Deda Zero 100 stem but all the 6 bolts are showing some rust.
Can you please suggest an alternative to the stock bolts? Is it possible to buy black reliable but light bolts for the Deda? Light as in not heavier than the current ones...

Hi,

They can all be replaced by same size (obviously) black anodized Ti bolts.
I am even surprised to learn they aren't Ti ones in the first place or at the very least stainless steel ones.

Ciao, ;)

P.S. Finished the glue job yet?

M5 x 16 mm for all 6 bolts. Many internet suppliers for ti or stainless.

@ fdegrove: not started yet, saving it for the weekend :)

@ Tinea Pedis: I honestly didn't know that the Deda Zero 100 stem was available in two 'flavours': a normal one and a Servizio Corse one (with Ti bolts!).

Btw how do I recognise a Ti bolt? Is there a 'T' written on the head?

Can anybody recommend me a good internet shop where I could buy (possibly) black Ti bolts or is it better to buy normal Ti bolts as the paint wouldn't last?

Hi,

The stylized "T" you sometimes see embossed inside the head of a bolt is actually a brandname (forgot which one).

I'd opt for the natural look Ti bolts as they don't show marks from keys as easily as anodized ones.

Here's a shop in the U.K. :

http://oscommerce.tibolts.co.uk/

There are plenty other shops around. The wisest option IMO would be to go for good quality bolts both with regard to materials used and the way the thread is formed. High grade Ti and rolled threads are certainly worthwhile in the long run.

Ciao, ;)

I recently bought a bunch of bolts from this vendor and it worked out very well. Fast shipping and the bolts were very high quality:
