Hi,
I may have a chance to get a Campagnolo 11 Super Record Ultra Torque crankset from my buddy for a good deal.
but unfortunately i have Shimano DA 7900 Derailleurs on my bike with Ultegra 6700 crankset.
Will that work 11spd crank and 10spd components ? :noidea:
i know they are using different chain. ...

just FYI, i may shaved all the lettering on the crankset so noone confused

please help....

It will be fine. FWIW I have an '11 speed only' Athena crank with my 10 speed Centaur groupset. Most cranks will work with most groupsets it's just shifting may not be absolutely optimal in all cases.

Not sure how well the two systems would be optimized though. I have a 10sp record groupset and tried tossing on a wheel with SRAM 10, and the spacing on the cassette didn't work with Campy. Why not borrow the crank from your buddy and try it out?

Cassette spacing is far more critical than chainring spacing. It's really not comparable.

Would it work the other way round?

My reason for asking is that Im thinking of getting a quarq rotor 3D power meter, but I run SRAM red on my TT bike and my new road bike is record 11 but I want to swap the crank set over between bikes.

Sorry for the high jack

Would I run 11 or 10 speed chain rings though?

I suppose in theory, 11 speed. But I doubt it would make much difference. Anyone care to back me up on this?

Yes works fine.
Make sure you use a 10sp shimano chain.
Do not use a 11sp campy chain - that will not work.

Not sure why you would make that switch - but whatever - good luck.

I have an 11 speed campy crank w/ 11 speed rings on an otherwise 10 speed bike. Works fine, but use the 10 speed chain like Woltshohl said.
