Hey All,

So a few weeks ago I put a post up looking for a good rim for a Road Disc project I'm working on. However in that thread only alloy rims were really the discussion point so here's my new topic:

What are you recommendations for rims/hubs/whatnot for a budget carbon road disc wheelset? I weigh around 205 when I'm out of shape, 190 mid season. I'd like the wheels to be a good balance of aero and light weight, but most importantly is that these will be my every day wheels so durability is a must.

So what do you think?

For everyday wheels then aluminium rims are the obvious choice - smoother and cheaper etc.

The only factory carbon disc wheels I'm aware of are the Reynolds Assault CX

see http://www.freeflowbikes.com/ProductDet ... t_id=13822

I've been looking into getting some new wheels built up and my current build (this may change...) would be Velocity A23 rims on Hope Pro2EVO or DT hubs.

For this build I'm only looking at carbon wheels to build myself because factory wheels are all going to be out of my price range. As for carbon vs aluminum...if you take good care of your wheels there's no reason why carbon wheels can't be your everyday wheels. especially when you consider that with disc brakes there won't be wear on the rim from braking.
