Is CarbonSports paying a royalty to Lew for "copying" the "yellow spoke of champions"?

True, it's 4 gold colored spokes rather than one yellow "spoke of champions", but it's close enough in concept. Anyhow, for that price, shouldn't they be using genuine gold?

There is a sucker born every minute of the day.
I never took drugs to improve my performance at any time. I will be willing to stick my finger into a polygraph test if anyone with big media pull wants to take issue. If you buy a signed poster now it will not be tarnished later. --Graeme Obree

Beat me to it.
"Nothing compares to the simple pleasures of a bike ride," said John F. Kennedy, a man who had the pleasure of Marilyn Monroe.

What is the actual price of these?
i dont understand the sucker comment. if you have the money and you want it, what is the problem?
its not like carbonsports sees you coming and decides to raise the price. if there is a demand it will sell.

Yeah, I don't get the sucker comment either. Your not buying the wheels here, your buying the experience. It's all about having the factory tour, and making that relationship connection with Lightweight and the wheels your getting. If you have the money, you like the idea, and you don't mind the look of the wheels, then its probably pretty cool option.
That being said, I personally wouldn't do it! I don't like the bling/garish look of having these signatures on the wheel. I also don't like the look of the typical Lightwieght stickers... just too much. That being said, I also don't have the money! But, one thing for sure - if I did have the money, and was into that company; I would rather go on the factory tour and then get a custom set of Lightweights, with stickers and spokes to my actual liking. That, I would happily pay for.

Simply opinions :
1. The things manufacturers will do for money.
2. Since moneymaking is what they do, i have no problem with that.
3. The wheel looks the tits.
4. People are going to buy them off CarbonSport in a minute.
5. Not this one, though.
6. People have the right to buy it.
7. People have the right to criticize anyone buying a product with their own money, it's just not sensible.
