Hello again,

I havnt been around for a while but some may remember my last Cannondale CAAD10 (6.68kg)http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=91152

Well its come time to move on...... again.

I have since Bought a Cannondale SLICE HiMOD "2" the Black one with SRAM Red and Hollogram cranks and so far managed to leave it completly stock.

But the build BUG has bit me again and I have since just got hold of a Supersix EVO "TEAM" frameset in a 56cm (819g with bidon cage bolts only included). Image and am about to start the build in the next day or so. Thought Id share some pics as it progresses through.

So far I have decided on almost everything except the bar, stem and post.

Im wanting to showcase the FRAME as I work at a bike shop specialising in Cannondales, so my thoughts are to have everything BLACK except the frame.

56cm Frame and matching fork
SRAM Red Black with the green liquigas highlights shifters and rear derailer
SRAM Red Black brake calipers, front derailer, Cassette,
Hollogram cranks with MK V Chain rings 50/34
Stans Alpha rims with black hubs and CX Ray spokes (1200g wheelset)
Tune skewers DC14
Schwalbe Ultremo ZLX tyres, Maxxis ultra light tubes.

Im thinking about the 3T Black edition ergonova, arx, doric combo with a FIZIK antares braided rails ontop.

Not sure how close this will be to a sub 6kg bike but that will be the goal.

Chris

So here it is. 5.98kg, I will be putting some Schwalbe Ultremo ZLX tyres on it in the morning, and getting another set of TIME pedals to match my SLICE. Not sure I like the seat colours so may even go just all black with braided rails.

Nice Hooligan :D

And Evo Team, would loved to build up a bike like that at work (work at a Cannondale dealer).

The hooligans are cool hey. We currently have a blk and a white one. The blk one we use as a shop bike for getting lunch and stuff. Awesome little bike. :-)

Nice bike - good luck with the build. Currently planning my evo build and was planning to use 3T too - about to order stealth Doric last night and realised they don't sell a 27.2. I have therefore gone for the USE cyclops (which I think I on your current build) - do you have any views on it?

I had the same problem. The 27.2 stealth doric I couldn't get here in Aus, so just used my existing USE alien cyclops, I have the 0' model its called "triathlon" but is a nice light post. Clamp is a bit fiddly but holds well once setup. I've been riding this post for ages now with no complaints.

same here, using the alien carbon cyclops (one bolt) on my evo; I like it a lot, my first experience w this post was on my caad9, I swapped a thomson elite (alu) with the USE and it was night and day, actually the only 100 gr cut I ever felt a difference, guess because of the confort gained.. now I run two, the other being on the caad10, i weight 155 pounds and it feels very solid. btw I manage to crack that first post on my caad9 since I overtorque it after dealing with a lot of sliding - due to using regular grease instead of carbon paste, out of pure ignorance!

btw, my evo has a similar build but weights 350 gr more :noidea:
true, I have some 400 gr more out of using ultegra instead of red and tire sealant, a second and heavy bottle cage and garmin sensors, but then again my wheels are tubular, dt swiss (~990 gr with valve extenders).. the frame is also 56 on blk/white paint, so about 15 gr less then the team version! anyway, congrats on the beautiful built, I love the evo, any color but for maybe the shiny black one, too plain and boring in person..

Interesting, not sure about your weight difference.

I have just decided to try the Hutchinson tubeless fusion 3 tyres, def not WW material but thought why not. Anyone used them. bike now weighs 6.26kg :(
