Is it measured from end to end of the spindle? Or 1/2 way in on each end of the taper?

Total length of the spindle (end to end).

I was told by a shop that sometimes length is measured from the middle of the taper on each end. So, I asked to make sure...

It doesn't matter if we know what you mean, the art of communication includes being accurate, it doesn't matter if it's 0.1 of a millimeter or the correct spelling of a word. For some people where English isn't their first language, they might not understand you, so your communication failed at that point, and that would be your fault, not theirs.

As you all can see, I altered the topic a bit. Ye olde balde one was correct with quoting is grandmother. We all, at this forum have to know that this isn't a place where only native speakers come together.
If there is a misunderstanding there is no need to flame. Just be the person with the brains and think before ever putting fingers to keys.
Don't react emotionally.
I think i'll leave it here.

I just found this on the net:Rule #1 for moderating:
The moderator is always right. Even if the moderator says that he/she is wrong, the moderator is still right.
That's funny.

I just simply asked a question I needed an answer to. I didn't ask for attitude or the feeling of being ignorant........I do believe this forum is for sharing cycling ideas and questions.......not for some young arrogant kid to ramble on and act superior. Everyone else gave me a polite, honest answer to my question(which I apperciate).....if I wanted to fight and act "cool" I would goto a teenage chat room.

I didn't flame. I just simply pointed out how you(SL) always seem to have an "attitude" when you answer people's questions. As you stated , you might be joking around.....but how do other people know that, I don't know you personally. I figure if you must answer questions with an attitude, please don't answer anymore of my questions.....plenty of very knowledgable members on this forum to help me and others out!!!

I've said it over and over. Thats what emotions are used for. ( See!) You obviously can't tell a person's tone very well in text, that's what the emotions are for and why I use them. You had no reason to flame.
P.S.
Are we going to see your bike anytime soon? It's been awhile since you siad you'd post pics.
